Teaching the Bible Using Multicultural Perspectives
(TTEP)
Registration fee: $50
This pre-conference
seminar for Theological Thinking for Education
Professionals (TTEP) is an opportunity for those who
have been working in Christian education for a number
of years to grapple with a challenging biblical and
theological ideas and their impact on today's world of
faith.
In this workshop for experienced educators,
Margaret Ann Crain, Professor of
Christian Education at Garrett-Evangelical Theological
Seminary, will offer resources for teaching the Bible
through the use of multicultural resources.
Learning to see the Bible through the eyes of our
global neighbors can help us experience the Bible in
fresh and peacemaking ways. When we become aware
of our own cultural biases and approaches to the Bible,
we are able to discern and appreciate those of
others. Participants will learn to find and work
with multicultural resources with laity in their
congregations in ways that both challenge and encourage
us to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ through Bible
study.
