Two events in one

For the first time, the CEF (Christian Educators Fellowship) conference for those involved in any kind of educational ministry and Preaching from the Center, a conference for clergy and preachers which is sponsored by the General Board of Discipleship, will be held together.

Participants will be able to participate in elements planned by both conferences, and most events will be held jointly, so this will be a tremendous opportunity for you to come along with your pastor. In addition, churches that bring three or more individuals to the conference will receive a $25 per person discount on their registration fee.

Preaching from the Center

Preaching from the Center is an annual conference for pastors and preachers. The United Methodist General Board of Discipleship has designed special afternoon learning opportunities in the joint event related to preaching and worship, and has participated in developing the overall design for the event.

Topics for the Preaching for the Center sessions include:
  • clergy self-care
  • faith and film
  • faith formation
  • New Testament preaching
A pre-event, day of instruction with Dr. Ronald Allen, is an optional session for those who are looking for a more intensive learning opportunity in preaching. Participants are expected to read several chapters from one of Dr. Allen’s books.
